Unique features
What makes this car truly special is the presence of all factory stickers on the bodywork, including the engine and gearbox. The car is largely in its original paintwork and retains all original weld points.
The car was recently taken to a renowned Porsche specialist for a complete engine overhaul. No expense was spared: all seals, bolts, segments, oil lines, clutch, and ignition were replaced. The invoice speaks for itself.
Together with the new Pirelli tires, this Porsche is ready for many enjoyable miles – a truly unique and valuable classic that rarely appears on the market.
History of the G model
The Porsche 911 G series was produced from 1973 to 1989 and was the longest-running generation of the 911. A total of 198,414 units left the factory. Available as a Coupé, Targa, and Cabriolet, Porsche was able to reach a wider audience with this model.
The G model established the 911’s reputation as a timeless icon and is now one of the most beloved classics among collectors. However, original and pure examples are becoming increasingly difficult to find, which further underlines the value of this particular vehicle.
The rare WTL (M491) version
What makes this Targa exceptional is the WTL option (Werksturbolook, M491). This factory option was offered between 1984 and 1989 and transformed a standard Carrera into a visual and technical counterpart to the 930 Turbo – but with the reliable 3.2 engine.
· A total of 3,572 M491 Turbo-Look models were produced in all body variants.
· Only 542 Targas saw the light of day, of which barely 324 were LHD versions.
· For the 1988 model year, only 32 vehicles were built – an absolute rarity.
The M491 included:
· Turbo body kit with wider front and rear wheel arches
· Original magnesium Fuchs rims with wider tires and lightweight construction
· Turbo braking system for optimal performance
· Turbo spoiler and modified front bumper lip
· Thicker stabilizers and tighter dampers, taken directly from the Turbo
